Progress, but Not Success, on High School Graduation

6/9/16 – The on-time graduation rate for public high schools in the United States has reached an all-time high, according to the latest federal data reported in Education Week. But progress has been far from uniform, and critical gaps remain. In Issues, two analysts have previously presented a slate of carrot-and-stick actions that policymakers and educators can take to help students reach this increasingly critical milestone.
