Porgy

James Prosek is a contemporary artist whose work originates in the style of early naturalists such as John Audubon but adds a modern twist. Like his predecessors, he draws from firsthand observations and experiences with his subject matter. But he is also aware of the limitations of representation and taxonomy, and his paintings incorporate acute observations on our human need to classify and label the world around us.
